ABOUT THE MUSEUM

The Spencerport Depot and Canal Museum is a History Museum, Visitors Center and Education Hub.

 

It houses exhibits on the Erie Canal, Transportation, Communication and Local History.

 

It also provides visitors services to boaters, cyclists and other visitors.

Our October opening hours are:

 

Wednesday to Friday: 10:00am to 3:30pm

Saturday: 10am to 4pm

Sunday - Tuesday: CLOSED

Closed November to April

Boater Accommodations

We love meeting all the wonderful people traveling the Canal so make sure you stop in and say hello at some point during your stay! We have lots of information on local businesses and attractions and can help point you in the right direction.

Bathrooms

In the downstairs of the Spencerport Canal Museum are facilities for boaters and travelers along the Erie Canal. There are bathrooms and showers available for boaters staying overnight at our docks. Ask Museum staff or the Bridge Tender for the access code to get in.

 

Docking

Dock spaces are available, free of charge on a first come first served basis not to exceed 48 hours.

 

No boat may tie up to the docks for any time exceeding 48 consecutive hours in any 7-day period and any time exceeding two periods of 48 consecutive hours during any 30-day period. 

 

Free water and electric hookups are available at the docks.

Wi-Fi

We also have free Wi-Fi access.  You will need to get the password from Museum staff or the Dockmaster.
